About phillycrime.org

This site is a non-profit, freely browsable database of crimes reported in Philadelphia. It is not affiliated with the Philadelphia Police Department, the University of Pennsylvania, or Google Maps. It is not an official source of crime information for the city of Philadelphia. It is simply an alternative view of public records that are available elsewhere.

Phillycrime.org is designed as a public service to provide easy access to crime information. Citizens may use this site to learn when and where specific types of crime tend to occur in their neighborhood or workplace.

Phillycrime.org provides contemporary crime data for West Philadelphia and data for the entire city in 1999. We are actively working to provide contemporary crime data across the entire city.

About the data (West Philadelphia 2006)

This site uses crime data collected by The University of Pennsylvania's Public Safety, as published in the Penn Almanac. The data comprises all reported incidents from the University Police Department, patrolling from Market Street to Baltimore Avenue and from the Schuylkill River to 43rd Street. Data from the PPD's 18th District include only those incidents from the Schuylkill River to 52nd Street and Market Street to Woodland Ave. Please consult the Penn Almanac to understand the data fully.

About the data (Philadelphia 1999)

This also site uses crime data collected by the Philadelphia Police Department in 1999 and published by The Philadelphia Inquirer. Many addresses contain spelling errors, which have been corrected wherever possible. Please consult the Inquirer to understand the data fully.
